Electricity
As we are off-grid, we have to produce our electricity with solar panels. Due to this, we have no air conditioning and kettles in the rooms and have to ask our guests to save as much power as possible and not using kettles or other hi-power electric devices. Power is available 24/7, also for charging your cellphone or camera batteries.

Relax and enjoy the tranquility. Feel free to browse through our information on Namibia and the books on the coffee table. Should you wish to borrow a novel during your stay, please feel free to ask any of the staff members who will assist you.
Our siesta time is betwen 13:00 and 16:00, during this time many guests like to enjoy the silence of nature or rest. Please respect this and keep noise to an absolute minimum.
Smoking
All our bedrooms and the dining room area are non-smoking areas. You are welcome to make use of the verandas and garden. Please do not drop your cigarette butts on the ground, instead make use of an ash tray.
Mosquitos, spiders, scorpions and snakes
We do have some mosquitoes during the rainy season, but they do not carry malaria. All rooms are equipped with a mosquito net. You will probably see spiders, be grateful as they generally reduce the fly and mosquito population. (There are very few harmful spiders.)
We do occasionally have scorpions, particularly in summer after the rains, so be cautious as some of them are poisonous. Shake out your shoes before putting them on and it is advisable not to walk barefoot in the dark.
Snakes are unlikely to come into the rooms. You may see them when your are out walking, but they are more afraid of humans then we are of them. They will generally move away if they feel you approaching.
Please do not try to catch any spiders, scorpions or snakes. Should there be any of these animals in your room, call one of the staff members to assist you!
Wildlife
We can only promise you scenery; seeing wild animals is a bonus. Wildlife that roam the area are Kudu, Mountain Zebra, Ibex (Steenbok), Springbuck, Chamois (Klipspringer), Oryx, Baboons and other smaller mammals.
We also have an interesting variety of bird-life, including black eagles and other raptors nesting on the farm.
Leopards and spotted hyenas have been spotted in the area but they are extremely shy animals, so if you do see one you are one of a very few extremely lucky people in the world that have seen them in this area.
